Description

LED Hive has put a lot of effort to overcome the glare problem without losing any light. This ECOFLARE LED Bulb is fitted with SEOUL Super Bright Chips. With each holding 6 multi new 'gen' C.O.B. When the light is released, the slide on lens is able to reflect to the other, and the slide reflects each other, repeating light over and over. Every single slide is carefully calculated and designed. This in return produces a light transmittance rate as much as 92.6% whilst other normal lens reaches only 73% tops. This is by far the brightest and the smartest bulb available in its range and can produce an accurate measured light equivalent to 80W.

These bulbs will install into any GU10 socket with an input voltage of 85 – 265V AC and is designed for any commercial, domestic or retail installation. Only consuming 6.5w of energy compared to 50w halogen, thereby offering significant savings that consumers should not ignore.

Lasting 50,000 hours compared to halogen bulb which only last 1500 – 2000, LED bulbs will pay for themselves within 3 to 6 months of installation. Homeowners and businesses can go many years without the hassle of having to change an LED bulb. Because of the way this bulb is designed there is very little heat generated compared to a halogen bulb. Most of the heat in this bulb is dissipated through its aluminium housing.

Non-dimmable LED lamps cannot be dimmed. Should you fit a dimmer to non-dimmable LED’s then damage to the dimmer, lamps or both will occur.

Mains voltage dimmable LED light bulbs can be dimmed using an ordinary resistive dimmer. LED lamps are an attractive proposition as they consume very low wattage's and are very energy efficient. This can cause problems when choosing the correct dimmer.

If you have a few LED lamps to dim, then the total wattage will not be enough to load the dimmer. For example, four 5w LED lamps in a small room will only total 20w whilst the minimum load on a 250w dimmer is 25w. This means that the dimmer will simply not work. In these circumstances a low load dimmer rated at 5 – 50w would be required.

Under normal circumstances, so long as the minimum load is exceeded, dimming mains voltage LED lamps is not an issue so long as the minimum load is observed.

    We have almost 100 GU 10's in ceiling down lighters in our house and have now replaced all the halogen ones with LED versions. Without a doubt theses are the best non-dimmable LED GU10s we have used. Light output is excellent, exceeding the 50W halogens. 4 of these lamps are above an island in our kitchen and the wide beam angle of the lamps flood the worktop with an amazing amount of light. We are so impressed that we are upgrading the remaining LED lamps in the kitchen with these Hive lamps. (Posted on 17/01/2017)

    Update: 1-year review. All 6 bulbs I installed in my kitchen a year ago are still working. I can say with confidence that this is a top-quality lamp so I have increased the review from 4 to 5 stars.

    These 6w bulbs are very much brighter than the 5w ones they replace. I have a whole new kitchen! I'm glad I chose the 'warm white'; it is not as yellow as an old incandescent bulb and anything whiter would be very jarring to walk into from another room.

    I wondered if the COB construction would lead to more glare. It does a bit, compared to the 45% 3-LED spots I had before, but it's not at all bothersome even on our low ceiling. The compound lens they put on the front seems to do the job - and also makes them look very smart.

    The units are heavier than the ones they replace; whether that really makes them higher-quality has yet to be seen. Fingers crossed.They are flush-fitted into the ceiling; the last lot physically fell apart under the heat stress. These have an aluminium shroud but the root of the bulb is still plastic. I think that's true of all LED GU10s, but it creates potential for differential expansion between the two materials. None failed immediately on installation, which has always been an issue with cheaper designs. They were very easy to fit.

    So far, I am very pleased and would recommend. I will update this review when the first one fails: no update = no failures so far. The 4 stars represent uncertainty about longevity, not any actual dissatisfaction. (Posted on 17/01/2017)

    I haven't done extensive testing to verify all the claims made, but the apparent build quality and light output is very good. Beam angle is quite wide for a GU10 with a TIR based optic, while the beam profile very smooth. Light quality (CCT and CRI) is also good for an LED bulb. I Have tested a lot of GU10 LED light bulbs on many different factors and this is one of the best all-round bulbs I have tested and for a good price too. (Posted on 17/01/2017)
